Our moulds are very robust in design and do not require the use of a release agent while most mould manufacturers recommend using a release agent. The lack of need for release agents also provides additional cost savings from both a material standpoint as well as a reduction in labor cost.

Rubber moulds work very effectively and are the “go-to” option for casting concrete pavers. In some cases, a release agent is not required when casting concrete in these moulds, but it depends greatly on the components of the concrete mix.

Using silicone rubbers may take away the need for release agents (which have the potential to affect the model); however, the oils from silicone rubbers also have the potential to affect the model in some way.

Platinum silicone mould rubbers can be appealing because of their great release properties (tin-cured silicones should not be considered for concrete as they shrink over time and deteriorate with age), but overall, we find that the advantages of rubber mould outweigh the advantages of silicone rubber for this paving block manufacturing application.

Silicone rubber moulds cost about twice as much as that of rubber moulds. This is because, by weight, it would require more silicone rubber than polyurethane rubber to create the same mould since silicone is denser.

Cured polyurethane rubbers exhibit physical properties that are generally “tougher” than silicones, so they are more resilient to wear and tear when moulds are used repeatedly for years.

Uses of polypropylene in different industries

The major end users of polypropylene are the packaging industry, electrical and equipment manufacturing, household appliances, automotive industries and construction materials. Relative to other common plastics polypropylene has a low density ranging between 0.895 and 0.92 g/cm which translates to weight savings for manufacturers and distributors of injection moulded polypropylene parts. It has extraordinary resistance at room temperature to organic solvents.  Polypropylene can be easily copolymerized (essentially combined into a composite plastic) with other polymers like polyethene. Copolymerization changes the material properties remarkably, allowing for more robust engineering applications that are possible with pure polypropylene. The ready availability and relatively less price make polypropylene a beneficial component for the mould.

Some of the most significant characteristics of polypropylene are:

1.Chemical Resistance: It is a good choice for containers of such liquids, such as cleaning agents, first-aid products since diluted bases and acids don’t react readily with polypropylene.

2.Elasticity and Toughness: Polypropylene will act with elasticity over a certain range of diversion, but it will also experience plastic distortion early on in the diversion process, so it is generally reviewed as a “tough” material. Toughness is defined as a material’s capacity to deform without breaking.

3. Fatigue Resistance: Even after a long torsion, bending and flexing polypropylene retains its shape. This property is especially beneficial for making living hinges.

4.Insulation: It is very useful for electronic components since polypropylene has a very high resistance to electricity

5.Transmissivity: Polypropylene is normally produced to be naturally opaque in colour although it can be made transparent. If a transfer of light is important and is of aesthetic value polypropylene can be used for these applications. Polycarbonate is better choices if high transmissivity is desired.

The Different Types of Polypropylene :

The main types of polypropylene available for production are homopolymers and copolymers. Among them, homopolymers are the most commonly used and general purpose moulds. The copolymers are further classified into block copolymers and random copolymers. Each type suits certain applications better than the others. Polypropylene is sometimes called the “steel” of the plastic industry because of the various ways in which it can be recast or customized to best serve a specific purpose. This is normally achieved by adopting special additives to it or by making it in a very particular way. This adaptability is an important attribute.

What are the different types of rubber moulding?

Rubber moulds for paver tiles can be done in two different forms of moulding, one is injection moulding and the other is compression moulding.

  • Injection Moulding

Under high pressure heated rubber compound or material is injected into the mould cavity, this process is known as injection rubber moulding.  The molten state material is placed inside the injection barrel. For creating rubber paver moulds in Indonesia injection moulding is the most well-versed way.

  • Injection moulding process.1) Into the injection barrel, an unseasonal rubber material in the form of a constant strip is ingested.2) In a temperature controlled barrel it is warmed by an auger screw. Once the rubber material accumulates the auger screw is pulled backward.3) By an injection press, the rubber material is inoculated into the mold cavities once the auger screw moves backward.

    4) When the mold is closed under high pressure the auger screw is pushed forward forcing the material into the mold cavities.

    5) When the material is cured in the heated mould the auger screw turns again to replace the injection barrel and the injection part is ready for next shot once the mould gets opened.

    Compression Moulding
